Meet this outgoing – and outstanding – member of the Memphis hospitality community, Andreanna Hood!

Take us through your career path.

I have been in the hospitality industry for five years. I worked at the Memphis Escape Rooms; before that I was in fast food. Before my role at Dixon Gallery and Gardens, I was employed at Park + Cherry. I am an artist and that’s part of the reason I wanted to be here at The Dixon.

What is your favorite part about working in the industry?

I like meeting people. It really is a lot of fun. You meet a lot of wonderful people and have great conversations. Also I like to make people feel happy!

What are three things on your bucket list for Memphis?

Metal Museum, Pink Palace Museum, and fishing on the Mississippi River.

What is something you learned in this position that has changed your life for the better?

As an artist, I meet a lot of artists here who share so much information that benefits me. Two teachers came in recently and asked if I was an artist as well. When I said yes, they encouraged me to go for it! I get a lot of encouragement from people as well as insight into their jobs. You get information from the people around you, which is so cool because the best information is from other people.

Thank you for sharing what you’ve learned, Andreanna!
