Welcome to Memphis Partners with the Memphis Redbirds for Hospitality Training

As a proud sponsor of the Memphis Redbirds, Welcome to Memphis (WTM) hosted a training session with Memphis Redbirds staff to educate them on offering authentic Memphis hospitality when working directly with visitors and guests. This training ensures staff are offering knowledgeable recommendations of places to visit in Memphis, sharing stories about unique Memphis history, and giving service with a smile.

The partnership is just one way we are working to educate local businesses and their employees on how to create remarkable experiences that keep people visiting Memphis time and time again.

The training session is part of our new and improved training programs, incorporating in-person classes for various hospitality needs and positions, in addition to working with management to ensure that staff are armed with a deep knowledge of Memphis to share with guests. These training sessions are ongoing, and will continue throughout the year at tourist-facing organizations in Memphis.

"Leading the hospitality training for the Memphis Redbirds is an honor,” said WTM Training Manager Jillian Melton. “It allows Welcome To Memphis to share our passion for exceptional service, ensuring the Memphis Redbirds staff provides every fan with a welcoming and unforgettable experience at Autozone Park.”

"Having the experts from Welcome to Memphis come out and further educate our full-time and part-time employees goes a long way in our pursuit to excellence,” said Memphis Redbirds president Craig Unger. “Welcome to Memphis was able to assist us in making sure our employees are better prepared to provide premier customer service and work to solve the unique situations that arise in this industry. Memphis Redbirds staff will put their training into action all season, including on WTM’s hospitality night Saturday, June 1, at 6:35 p.m. during their home game against the Nashville Sounds. Attendees can take advantage of discounted Redbirds tickets, available here. Beginning with a pre-game party at 4:30 p.m., the first 1,500 people will take home a cool beach towel, and everyone will enjoy a seasonal fireworks show!

At this event, we will also honor the 2024 First and Second Quarterly Pick Award winners with an on-field presentation before the game. The Pick Awards recognize and celebrate the hospitality professionals who deliver authentic Memphis hospitality, are knowledgeable about their city, and show pride in the 901.
