How long have you worked at Rendezvous? 

I’ve been at Rendezvous for twenty years. 

Was this your first job in the hospitality industry?

Yes, I started working at Rendezvous when I was still in high school. Before that, I worked during the summers at the Commercial Appeal, feeding newspapers into the machines. 

What’s something you love about working at the Rendezvous? 

Rendezvous is a really unique place, from the atmosphere, to the staff, to the owners. And our customers are all types of people. There’s no telling who you might see there. I’ve had the privilege of waiting on celebrities, basketball players, and football players. It’s an iconic place. 

What advice would you give to somebody who's new to the hospitality industry?  

Always have a smile on your face. Even if you're having a rough day, always have a smile on your face, because you never know how your smile might help someone who's also having a bad day. Also, work hard and dedicate yourself to your field of work. 

What places do you recommend people visit while in Memphis? 

Beale Street, Stax Museum, Sun Studios, Graceland, and The National Civil Rights Museum.
