It is no surprise that Alicia Kapp is a 2023 Quarterly Pick Award Honoree. Guests at the Majestic Grille praise her true Memphis hospitality. She has built true friendships with many of her lunchtime regulars, sharing phone numbers and staying in touch. When she found out that one of her regular guests suffered a stroke, she messaged him to find out how he was. On learning where he was hospitalized, Alicia took the patient and his wife dinner, along with a get well card signed by staff at the Majestic.

Fourteen years.

My regular guests.

The way the management treated us during Covid.

What are your top three favorite places to visit in Memphis?

The Majestic Grille, Automatic Slim’s, and Flying Fish.
What is something you learned in this position that has changed your life for the better?

To be kind, because you never know what someone is going through.

What advice would you give to someone starting out in the hospitality industry?

Bring your own clientele and make relationships with guests.
