Spirit of Memphis Featured Drinks and Sponsor!

The taste tests are in and we are excited to introduce you to the restaurants behind the 2024 Spirit of Memphis featured cocktail and mocktail!

Cocozza American Italian Restaurant is known for its delicious dishes, served in a warm and unpretentious atmosphere. No wonder this much-loved red sauce joint developed the delightful cocktail that captured everyone’s attention during the Spirit of Memphis relay! The Greyhound Dog combines Old Dominick Honeybell Vodka, muddled lime and cherries, and grapefruit soda for a refreshing concoction that pairs well with a meal and is also a nice little sipper on its own.

Bog & Barley is relatively new to Memphis but has taken the culinary scene by storm. This friendly, authentic pub takes pride in offering guests a true taste of Ireland, from traditional recipes with a modern twist to a warm welcome when you walk in the door. Known for a strong whiskey and cocktail menu, Bog & Barley has come up aces in the mocktail category, too. The Orange Honey Dream is made with blood orange puree, lime, vanilla extract, honey, and cream soda.

We are especially grateful to our partner for the Spirit of Memphis social media relay, Old Dominick Distillery. With a storied past and an innovative future, Old Dominick is a significant part of Memphis's cultural landscape.

Founded in 1866 by Italian immigrant Domenico Canale as a food wholesaler business, D. Canale & Co. offered a whiskey called "Old Dominick,” followed by the Old Dominick Toddy, developed in 1880. Tragically, Canale passed away just three days before Prohibition began in 1920, halting whiskey production for decades. The distillery was reopened in 2017 by Canale's descendants, marking the first legal whiskey distillation in Memphis since Prohibition.

The revival was inspired by the discovery of an unopened bottle of Old Dominick Toddy from the late 1800s, prompting the family to bring back their great-great-grandfather's legacy. Today, Old Dominick produces a variety of spirits, including several types of whiskey, gin, and vodka. Their offerings also include the original Dominick Toddy and seasonal specialties like Honeybell Citrus Vodka, showcasing a commitment to quality and creativity.

The distillery is not just about spirits; it serves as a community hub in Downtown Memphis. It features a tasting room, event spaces, and hosts tours that educate visitors about the distilling process while celebrating the rich history of Memphis and its spirits culture.

Welcome to Memphis was proud to partner with Old Dominick for the second annual Spirit of Memphis social media relay!
