As the 2024 Pick Awards winner in the Restaurants category, Warnett is recognized for being personable, helpful, energetic, optimistic, knowledgeable, and great at sales. One of her nominators, a guest to Memphis, shared this story: “I walked into Butteriffic and Warnett greeted me with the biggest smile. She talked to me like she knew me. I guess she could tell I had something on my mind. I’m not sure how she knew I needed it, but she came from behind the counter, hugged me and said my day would get ‘BUTTER.’ That made me laugh. She asked where I was visiting from and what brought me to Memphis. I could tell she was genuinely interested. She gave me lots of recommendations for places to visit. Warnett made my visit to Memphis one of the best trips I have taken in a long time.”

Tell us about your position at Butterific Bakery. 

I’m a lead customer service representative. I’ve been at Butterific for three years, since the store opened. 

How long have you been in the hospitality industry?

Probably ten to fifteen years. 

Why did you get into the hospitality industry? 

I love giving back and helping people. I've needed help myself. Giving good advice, helping people, and letting people know about our city – all of that means so much to me.

What is your favorite part of the hospitality industry? 

Networking and meeting people. I love talking to people, getting to know them. So that is the highlight of my day, every day. 

What are your top three places to visit in Memphis?

Of course I have to recommend Butterific, because we have such a warm environment. Another place would probably be anywhere on Beale Street. And I love the Metal Museum.

What is something that you have learned in this position that has changed your life for the better? 

Kindness goes a long way. No matter what your day is like, always be kind, because one day you're going to need somebody to be kind to you when you're having a bad day. 

What advice would you give to somebody who's new to the industry?

Think about how you want to be treated. You don't want to be treated badly, so don't treat people badly. Communicate and be kind.
