At the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Downtown Memphis, Kyle Ruggles is known for his warm smile, genuine desire to help guests, and willingness to go above and beyond. Kyle has a passion for local restaurants, nightlife, and attractions that he shares with out-of-town visitors. He enjoys his job and it shows. 

A recent transplant to Memphis, Kyle has embraced our city and takes great pride in providing excellent customer service in his role as group housing coordinator and administrator at the Doubletree. His level of commitment to service and hospitality earned him the second 2023 Quarterly Pick Award for Hotels. Say hello to Kyle Ruggles! 

How long have you been working in the hospitality industry?

Since August of 2022.

What is your favorite part about working in the industry?

Being able to be nice to people.

Please describe one of your favorite experiences or memories from working in this position.

I learned the most when the reservationist was out for a while and I had to take over.

What are your top three favorite places to visit in Memphis?

Midtown, Shelby Farms, Downtown anywhere.

What advice would you give to someone starting out in the hospitality industry?

Stick with it and do your job well; there are infinite possibilities. Always be willing to learn to have somewhere to grow.
